Despite the shrinkage in global markets caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Aegean Free Zone, which managed to largely compensate for its losses in trade volume in 2020, completed the first half of this year above the pre-pandemic capacity. The trade volume of the Aegean Free Zone, which rose above 2 billion 374 million dollars in January-June 2021, was realized at 39.2 percent above the first half of 2020 and 12 percent above the first half of 2019.
