Having made the Aegean Region a leader in terms of trade volume and employment, ESBAŞ’s next investment is in Bergama. BASBAŞ will provide jobs to 100 thousand people.
ESBAŞ, which develops and operates The Aegean Free Zone in Gaziemir district of Izmir, gears up for an investment in Bergama. ESBAŞ founded BASBAŞ (Western Anatolian Free Zone Development and Operating Co.) in 2019 to plant the seeds for the Western Anatolian Free Zone on an area of 2.5 million square meters in Aşağıkırıklar vicinity of Bergama. ESBAŞ Chief Executive Officer Dr. Faruk Güler informed that the Western Anatolian Free Zone, where the land allocations will start in 2022, will provide employment for 20 thousand people when it reaches full capacity and realize an export rate of 2.5 billion dollars. Guler emphasized that there will be job opportunities for close to 100 thousand people with commercial activities with the Zone companies.
