Türkiye Innovation Week’s Anatolia Meeting took place in Izmir with participation of representatives from the business world and universities on March 19th-20th 2015. On the first day of the event which was organized by Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) and Aegean Exporters’ Association (EIB), entrepreneurs with innovative projects came together with representatives of investor companies and found an opportunity to present their Projects. 

“Investors and Entrepreneurs Meeting” panel that was moderated by ESBAS CEO Dr. Faruk Güler received much attention from the participants. Representatives from the companies operating in the Aegean Free Zone shared their experiences with entrepreneurs, providing detailed examples of how to proceed in order to put their projects into practice. In the panel, TEB also gave a presentation on the Angel Investment Platform. 

Following the presentations, entrepreneurs from TIM-TEB Start-Up House introduced and explained their projects to the participants and investors. 

Dr. Faruk Güler said he was very excited when he learned from the Chairman of Aegean Exporters’ Association, Mr. Sabri Ünlütürk about the organiziation of a special panel and that he truly supported the idea to include such a panel in the Innovation Week organization. Dr. Güler added, “during preparations for this panel, we held a preliminary meeting with representatives from the investor companies operating in the Aegean Free Zone and worked to make this a highly fruitful panel for the entrepreneurs. We are very happy to be here today. We’ll be listening to the valuable experiences of some of the representatives of investor companies of the Aegean Free Zone. I’m sure we have all, at some point in life, thought of many projects but could not accomplish them for many reasons. Today, we are going to listen to the projects of young minds. I truly hope that at the end of the day they can find investors to finance their projects. I give my heartfelt support to all of our young entrepreneurs and wish them all a continued success.” 

As the first speaker, General Manager of Kale Pratt & Whitney, Mr. Mustafa Menkü talked about the project stage of a designed product and how the product should be delivered to the customer or to the market. After Mr. Menkü, Deputy Plant Manager of Hugo Boss Mr. Kazım Saver addressed the audience and provided information about the Hugo Boss perception of entrepreneurship. 

Another Aegean Free Zone company that attended the panel was CMS. Deputy Technical General Manager of CMS, Mr. Doğan Alpdoruk shared his experiences as to the innovation culture of companies. Finally, SL Enerji Chairman of the Board, Mr. Mahmut Bülbül, who received support from a financing institution to invest in the Aegean Free Zone, told the story of how he incorporated his company.  TEB Private Banking Sales and Marketing Director Aylin Alkan gave a presentation on “What is Angel Investment Platform?” in the panel.
