Sometimes It Is Necessary To Remind
Hüseyin Aslan’s enthusiasm and energy is breathtaking. He would not care if the days were 48 hours long. He is jumping from one thing to another. People who are trying to follow him feel dizzy.
Recently “İzmir Health Free Zone Project” created a tremendous impression.
However most of the time the speed is a disaster.
Hüseyin Aslan fell victim to his impatience while he was presenting his new project claiming that “it has never been brought into question until now”; because a similar project with the same objective was voiced years ago.
Moreover, the person who voiced the project was Kaya Tuncer, the first person coming to mind when it comes to “free zones”.
As I said: speed is disaster!
Hüseyin Aslan probably missed the explanation made by Kaya Tuncer on 15 January 2010 which was: “We established the INOVIZ Platform-İzmir For Health, under the leadership of Turkish-American Scientists Association and with the participation of Ege University, Dokuz Eylül Universityand High Technology Institute.
We aimed to transform İzmir into a center of attraction in terms of health”.
He did not remember that Kaya Tuncer commented on Dubai -that he also takes as an example- by saying: “ESBAŞ determined its marketing and publicity activities in 2010 focused on the health sector and organized its activity calendar in 2010 focused on the health sector as well. ESBAŞ is going to participate in the Arab Health Fair which will be held in Dubai on 25-28 January 2010 with a team of 5 members including a doctor from ESBAŞ Health Center.”
I wish he looked at the archive of the internet site of Milliyet Newspaper.
I wrote the following on Kaya Tuncer’s explanation on 19 January 2010:
“I attach great importance to the dream of making İzmir one of the most important health cities in the world which belongs to Kaya Tuncer, Chairman of the Board of ESBAŞ and his efforts and enthusiasm in this respect.
There is no need to discuss it. It should be the center of health tourism.
Let alone today. Go back to the past as much as you can and ask yourself:
Where is Asklepion, one of the oldest medical centers of the world?
Of course it is in Bergama, right under your nose.
In other words, it should have the ambition of being the capital city of the health tourism.
Obviously this is the order of the history”.
I beg your pardon.
It is sometimes necessary to remind people who have difficulty in remembering what had been experienced.
There is no choice to at least protect high values like “respect”, “fidelity” and “ethics”.
