NASA Astronaut Michael J. Foreman shares his experiences in space with students at Space Camp Türkiye during E-Pal Week, June 28 – July 4

Astronaut Michael Foreman was at Space Camp Türkiye on Wednesday, July 1 to tell his inspiring story of how he became an astronaut and share his experiences in space. Among his many accomplishments, he logged a total of 638 hours in space, including 32 hours and 19 minutes of "spacewalks" during his NASA shuttle missions in 2008 and 2009.

Addressing a group of nearly 160 participants and reporters from Türkiye as well as other countries such as USA, Slovenia, Poland, Canada, and Bulgaria, Foreman explained that he had to apply to become an astronaut at NASA eight times and wait years until he was finally accepted. "I never gave up on my dream of going to space, even when I was rejected, and I kept trying over and over.  Dream big and set goals in life, but remember that if you reach your goals in your first try, your goals may not be high enough. Do something every day to achieve your goal. Don't give up on any of your dreams." said Foreman.

Prior to his presentation at a special event known as "E-Pal Week", Astronaut Foreman also participated in a special celebration honoring Space Camp Türkiye's 15th Anniversary. In the Space Camp Türkiye training center, he assisted in the cutting of the anniversary cake along with  ESBAS Chairwoman Mary Tuncer, ESBAS CEO Faruk Guler and Space Camp Türkiye Director Scott Woodham.
