Ropix Giyim, located in the Aegean Free Zone, began manufacturing padding for Hugo Boss in 2002 and is now selling products to the domestic market.  For suit accessory production, Ropix made a 2 million Euro investment and is currently selling products to several recognized brands in Türkiye.  The company raised its capacity by 40% and increased its staff from 45 to 90 employees. With the goal of reaching 150 employees by the end of the year, Ropix plans to manufacture “plaques”- which create the framework of suits – in their Izmir factory and their facilities in Albania. 

Ropix Giyim Factory Manager, Mr. Temel Kaymak provided information about their new investments and goals, explaining that their success story, which started out with ‘padding’, continues today with sleeve head rolls, waistbands, plastic hangers for suits and pants, plastic bags, garment bags, as well as cotton and felt processed in varying weights and sizes to be used as padding. Ropix Company is one of a few companies in Türkiye in this field. 

Noting that the company will start to manufacture plaques, which form the framework of suits and give them an elegant look, Temel Kaymak said, “There are two major manufacturing centers. One of them is in Albania, where our founder is also a partner. We export to 65 countries from this factory, which employs 1,000 people, and sell products to a number of well-known brands. We want to manufacture the same product here at our facilities in Izmir and already we set out to achieve that. The products are made of horse, camel and goat hair and fleece. We’ll bring the fabric from Italy and have a considerable share of the domestic market.” 

Manufacturing nearly 1.5 million padding items in a year, the company successfully exported unbreakable plastic hangers to China. The company, which used to import  cotton padding from Italy, now uses cotton from the Söke region of Türkiye after its recent machinery investment.
