The Aegean Free Zone compensated the losses incurred during the pandemic with the increase in trade volume in the last 5 months and closed the year 2020 with figures similar to those of the previous year. AFZ’s trade volume figures for 2021 are expected to exceed the pre-pandemic figures.
Having increased its trade volume by 5.9 percent in August, 12.9 percent in September, 5 percent in October and by 8.1 percent in November 2020 compared to the same months of the previous year, the Aegean Free Zone finalized the month of December with a 9.2 percent increase, achieving a consecutive increase in 5 months despite the pandemic-related stagnation in the global markets. The average of these 5 months equal to 8.22 percent monthly increase in the trade volume, and 6 percent monthly increase in export.
